More photos from 2009 to get the blog rollin'!

I did a Project 365 last year.  I managed to take a photo every single day to keep myself inspired and creative while not in business.  We were only in Kansas a VERY short time, so I took that time to be a full time Mommy and learn as much as I could about different lighting styles.  I was the only person around most days to practice on, so these are some self portraits I created.  I hope you enjoy them!

New town, and a Blog make-over!

I'm not completely settled in, YET, but I'm on my way to opening the doors to new customers in Chesapeake County, Virginia! Website updates have been underway, the studio is practically finished, and business paperwork has been procrastinated long enough! I'm so excited to have a fresh start in such a beautiful location!

To introduce myself, I'm going to share a few images from the last year. Enjoy!

Sophie's Favorite Big Blue Bridge

This photo is for Sophie. When we were driving into Leavenworth for the first time last summer, she said "Look Momma, it's a beautiful big blue bridge!". Since then, every time we cross over it, she gets excited. Not sure why really, but these photos are for her. :)

Today she did it!

Sophie has known her alphabet since she was just over a year old. She's been learning to WRITE the alphabet for the last year or so. TODAY she asked me how to spell Momma. I told her the letters, she wrote my name. (and drew a little smiley face) I'm so proud of her.

A little bit about me.

I am a military wife to Mike and momma to 2 daughters, Sophie and Alex. Photography is my creative outlet, and it gives me so much joy. I love documenting the important memories of a family's life. The truth I capture in my portraits is unique to the world of traditional photography. I do my best to capture moments showing a client's personality and inner beauty. Stiff poses and fake smiles are not my cup of tea. Laughter, giggles, scrunched up noses, serious contemplation, even a fussy face or two are more common elements found when looking at proofs from an Apple of My Eye session. Candid portraits capturing the quirks that make people unique and beautiful fill my website galleries. My portraits are honest, truthful, and unique.
